We know that people are more willing and able to provide this help if they are well prepared. And we believe individuals should prepare for their helping role by choosing a training program that will best support their needs.

Empower your team with organizational training solutions that drive collaboration, enhance productivity, and foster professional development across your organization.

Beginning in 2025, HKUCSRP partners with LivingWorks — an internationally recognised leader in suicide prevention — to deliver the LivingWorks safeTALK and LivingWorks ASIST workshops in Hong Kong, further enhancing community awareness and capacity to intervene safely.

SafeTALK is half a day, in-person workshop that equips you with the skills to recognize when someone may be considering suicide and to connect them to further help. It is a powerful, hands-on experience that uses presentations, audiovisuals, and skills practice to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day, evidence-based workshop developed by LivingWorks, specializing in suicide intervention. With 40 years of experience, ASIST is widely recognized and respected in the field for its effectiveness in training individuals to provide support in crisis situations.
Suicide prevention skills training is one of the most effective intervention methods available. When individuals experience suicidal thoughts, they often express their pain in subtle ways, hoping someone will notice and offer help. This training equips you to recognize warning signs, provide initial support, and connect individuals with professional resources - ultimately becoming a beacon of safety and hope in their darkest moments.
🔹 safeTALK focuses on "awareness and referral skills"—an introductory-level for those without a counseling background, as well as anyone interested in suicide prevention.
🔹 ASIST is an advanced suicide intervention training, designed for professionals with counseling experience or knowledge, but also open to anyone looking to enhance their ability to support individuals with suicidal thoughts.
Both safeTALK and ASIST workshops are suitable for everyone. They are community-based, designed to enhance participants’ skills and confidence in suicide prevention. We believe that everyone has a vital role to play in building a strong support network—working to safeguard mental well-being and save lives in our community.
